Nate's Post

Well, Miranda told me that it is my time to post, so here goes. Last Friday my mom came and we FINALLY got a puppy!! Her name is Ole, after St. Olaf, and she is a 10 week old black lab. I don't think we really realized how much work it is and will be to have a puppy. It is almost just as hard as having a new baby (without the pain).

My mom got it for us because she bred her black lab and had 8 puppies (4 boys and 4 girls). Only one was a yellow and the rest were all black. She is keeping the yellow for herself and finding good homes for all the others. She stayed all week to take care of it so that Ole could get her acclimated to her new environment while Miranda and I had to work.

The kids seem to be getting used to having a dog here and like that we get to "keep her forever" as Emma says. The are still a little wary because she is mouthy yet and have those razor teeth that all puppies do. She is pretty calm and when she is like that the kids like to pet her, but she still is a puppy and does get wild sometimes and she will chase Isaac and run around like crazy. She is very good overall and once we get to work with her I think she will be a great dog. Other than that, everything is pretty normal around here. Look forward to seeing everyone at the family picnic.
