Rileigh Smileigh Turns 12!

Wednesday, January 31, is Rileigh's birthday. It's hard to believe that the little girl who arrived in Pasadena in 1995 is entering her last year as a pre-teen.

Here, she's sitting with her pal, Dakota.

Here's Rileigh with Grandma Ann.

Below, Rileigh shows her ballet form shortly after performing in "The Nutcracker."

Little more news from the zoo

Hi guys! So I thought I would update everyone on what is going on in my life, since I was just looking at the blog and realized i had not announced it on here yet. I have recently changed my major from Medical Technology to Liberal Studies with an emphasis in Religious Studies. Yea I know big change of plans, huh. Well the main reason for this is to perhaps prepare myself to enter the seminary after college and then pursue the priesthood. Obviously, the priesthood is a long ways away (8-10 years away) and a lot can and will happen between now and then. I had a very interesting semester last semester that pointed me down this road. I would love to tell the story but it is very long and would be best told over a cup of coffe or on the couches after dinner at Grandma's house. So while you pray for Jake through his frustrating time, say a quick one for me too, if you don't mind. Thanks guys! love you all and hopefully I will see you all soon!

Birthdays!

Monday, January 29 -- Mary Shannon Moore Wingerter

Saturday, February 3 -- Thomas Gerard Moore

We won't mention ages. And I have to say that these photos do little justice to Mary's new svelte self. Yer lookin' good, sis.

Tom and Mary were both born in Great Falls, at the old Columbus Hospital on 2nd Avenue North. At the time, we were living in the "old house" down on 6th Avenue North and 18th Street.

As "younger kids," Tom and Mary attended Great Falls High, rather than Great Falls Central (which was, at that time, a mere memory). They're also both graduates of Montana State -- the only ones in immediate family, along with their spouses.

At the last family picnic, we were remiss in getting the usual gaggle of group shots. I think we were all too busy dodging bees.

Anyway, here's a shot of Mom and sibs from 2005.

NEWEST NEWS ABOUT JAKE

Hey y'all!
Just some news about Jake. He had a scan today on his thyroid. They found some tissue, not sure if it is cancer or not, and his levels are a bit elevated (read not at zero). So the doctor has decided he needs to be radiated again with the radioactive iodine that he has had before. Jake is feeling very positive that this a preventative measure and that it doesn't mean his cancer is back. However, I am his MOM and I tend to say we need lots of prayers anyway.
So, I am asking the greatest family in the world...keep Jake in your prayers. He goes in on Monday for "the pill" and he will be in isolation at home for at least 3 days. He will have another scan the week of Feb. 5. So he is "stuck in Great Falls" as he says until we find out the results of that. Right now, he is 5 weeks without his synthroid and feeling really tired and run down. So he has been sleeping lots but going buggy being at home with NO ONE here in Great Falls (read no friends!) So, keep Jake-O in your thoughts and prayers this next week. I truly would appreciate it!
Love you all and I am looking for photos of our newest addition! Let's go Grandpa! Where are the pictures?!??

Address Updates

Because I need addresses to write thank-yous and to update my address book, I thought everyone might want to do this. I think the blog is a good spot since everyone can see it. I know there's a lot of us that may change addresses frequently, but again the blog could be used to notify everyone of your move! I've had four addresses in the past 6 months, but I think I'll be settled at this one for awhile. So I'll start the updating out. Here's my address:
1602 Caliper Way
Durham, NC 27713
919-452-3916

Hope everyone is doing well. Me and baby seem to be doing fine. I've survived all the kicking so far!

My oh May

Well, today I bought my ticket to ride ... rather, to fly. I'm going to Slovenia for the month of May. Visit friends, play some music. Meanwhile, I'll tough out the winter in Montana.
Hey -- good news that Matt and Kelly are expecting again! The family is growing apace.

I hope everyone is getting a good start in 2007.

This is solely for Abe.

I was looking at old pictures I had on my parent's computer over this Christmas Break and found some pictures I had forgotten about. These ones are from Miranda's wedding... I thought I would just post it for the heck of it.

The Sugar Bowl: Not So Sweet!

Yesterday (that fateful day, January 3), I drove the long drive back to Helena from Idaho Falls thinking, "Well, at least there's a light at the end of this tunnel -- the game this evening." (By the way, the people in Idaho all keep blathering about "Fiesta" and "BSU" or somesuch -- whatever THAT means.) Anyway, I arrive home and enter the kitchen, only to be confronted by THIS hanging on my TV.

And this was BEFORE the game! Someone had ENTERED our house, VIOLATED our space, and DEFILED our appliance with this ... this ... RAG! Now, you're probably all thinking, "Who on earth would DO such a dastardly deed?" I'll tell you who ... CHARLIE RICE, that's who! Okay, I don't know that for certain, but really ... who else? As a result, I'm holding him PERSONALLY RESPONSIBLE for the outcome of the game. If y'all want, I'll post his address (postal, since he don't do e-mail), and you can send him ... well ... I don't know ... moldy rice or counterfeit money or what-all you can think of. Whatever, do NOT let this crime go unpunished!

A Buyske Christmas

Well it was another fun Christmas/New Year for the Buyske family (+ Ryan). While the whole family was together for only a short period of time, it was nice to be able to celebrate our last Christmas in Shelby together. Matt, Kelly, & Will drove in on Friday the 22nd and Mike flew in on Saturday the 23rd (late, due to the Denver weather) and we were all together for that day. Then Matt, Kelly, & Will flew to Iowa on the 24th, and Molly and Jen went to New York City with the other Buyskes from the 26th to the 30th. Everyone was back together on the 30th in Great Falls for Kelly's birthday and we snapped this nice family picture. It was a fun-filled week and a half and we were thoroughly entertained by the ever-growing William, who never ceases to amaze me. Here are a few pics of his adventures in Shelby. Hope everyone had a great Christmas and have a great new year!
