Way to go, Nickolas!

Nick recently graduated from UM with a degree in liberal studies. It was a very nice celebration, held outside on the oval and thankfully the weather was perfect. The liberal studies college graduation was very short and sweet with only 5 graduates attending. Nick's professors all had very nice things to say about him which is just what a Mom loves to hear!

Now it is on to a masters program at UGF in the fall. Great job Nick and we LOVE having you home!!
Love ya tons!

Congratulations Jen!

A big shout out to Jen as she enters the Naval legal world! She graduated summa cum laude and in the top 8 of her class! We are so proud of you, Jen! Good luck studying for the bar this summer. It was nice to have Michael there to cheer Jen on, too.

Nurse Shan

Last weekend Shannon entered the "real world." The newest college grad in the Moore family graduated with HIGHEST HONORS (taking after her big brother .... or not) from the College of Nursing from the greatest school in Montana. She becomes the 9th Montana State grad in the Moore family. Congratulations, Shan, I know you worked hard and it definitley shows. Have some fun now that care plans are done!

Happy Birthday Joey

Almost a belated birthday wish, but still before midnight so it counts. Happy 29th b-day, Joey. Great demonstration of the type of hold he uses to keep control of those wild Billings 4th graders as well as large ceramic reptiles. Congrats as well on wrapping up your first of many years as a teacher. Billings is lucky to have you. Hope you had a great day, bro.

Love,
Mike

D-RAY's B-DAY!

How fun!  I get to christen the site with Desiree's first FAMILY birthday post on the Moore blog.  What an honor!  okokok... my favorite Desiree memory is watching her be with her friends, family and now our family.  Des is always so generous and kind, makes me laugh until I cry with her wit - and truly is the perfect balance of realism and compassion with my favorite brother.  I love so much having her as a sister!  Happy Birthday D!

xoxoxo, m

miscellaneous news

Mary and Jim came out to the Max last Friday to hear a bit of music. They even danced one dance that I noticed. Mary was a lot tired from the Spirit Walk fundraiser that day. Jim had battled the storm the night before to drive a roundabout way back to GF from ... where? ... Podunkville, I believe.

Saturday morning, Mom and I had breakfast and a few good laughs. We talked about the sale of her house (signed off on Friday) and other family news. She made it clear that she doesn't want anything for Mother's Day, which then puts the challenge in front of all of us -- what shall we do for Mother's Day? Anyway, we split a couple games of cribbage and called it good.

Saturday evening, Maurika came to Helena from Missoula for a belated birthday celebration. Ann was away for the weekend at a Buddhist retreat (which she enjoyed immensely), so Mo and I had a great time -- we went out for some music, visited a lot, and played cribbage. Jan and Marc came over for brunch on Sunday (with Jan's signature cinnamon twists). We visited and got in a game of pinochle -- the Buyskes won.

Today I got news (although Maurika had spilled the beans a bit earlier) that the Philpots adopted a pound dog. We'll be looking for photos in this space, along with testimony about the hound's good character.

I hope you're all aware that Thursday is Desiree's 30th birthday. Woo hoo! We'll look for all kinds of news about that celebration, once it rolls around.
