The latest of Miss. Sabina

The Philpot Phamily

Ann and I made a quick trip to Utah last weekend and visited Hannah and family. We enjoyed some fine activities, such as ice skating and chasing chickens at Jim & Beryl's Rockin' R.

Here are some of the skaters. The kids did very well for the first time on ice. All agreed that it's harder than it looks.

After collecting eggs, the kids found it was time to rustle the chickens back in to the coop. I would dub the coop the "Hen Hilton" -- it's quite a structure, reported (by Jim) to have withstood hurricane-force winds. Jerry did the wiring, and Beryl installed the flat-screen TV. (Okay ... just kidding about that last thing.)

Here's Kesiah, making a spectacle of herself. We also spent a bit of time taking pictures and sending 'em to Rileigh and Bridger.

Monday was Kaitlyn's first birthday -- and first experience with birthday cake. By all appearances, she liked it.

All in all, I'd have to report that the Philpots are getting along quite nicely. They'll soon be heading to a vacation in Cancun, Mexico. I expect we'll see some good photos from that excursion.

Happy 50th Birthday Jeanine!!!!

January the 18th marks my mom's 50th Birthday! The big 5-0 will be celebrated with the music of Brad Paisley tonight in Billings. There will be a whole crew ready to welcome her to her fiftieth year. She's busy working part time at the school as a aide and then in the afternoons as a secretary so tomorrow's fun will be a good time for her to let her hair down (which is hard to do for us with naturally curly hair) and have some fun dancing to country music. Happy Birthday, Mom. We love ya.

It's a Wrap

Well, after a year and a half, the "Facility that Nate Built" (That's what all the cool kids are calling it) is finally complete. Here are a couple of pictures of the new Health and PE Building that we built on the MSU campus. It's a really nice new building with new weight rooms, new cardio rooms, and a lot of ultra modern stuff in it. It was a good one and a half years or some pretty fun work. Alas, all good things must come to an end so I am now in Great Falls working at the airport for Swank Const. building some new hangers. Not as exciting but I feel as though I am building on something everyday.

Hunger Awareness and Frequent Flier Miles

Hello family! Looks like everyone had an awesome Christmas, New Year, Bowl Season. Maybe not the latter, at least we didn't have to watch our beloved Domers take it in the pants again. I think this is my least favorite month in the year, but alas we must return to our business. I am now back in Missoula taking a winter session class (Philosophy 430: Philosophy of Religion). So far so good. I have a presentation on Wednesday and another one next week and a ten page paper/presentation due the next week. YAY! Anyway, the main reason for this post was to ask a couple of favors: First and foremost, our Catholic Campus Ministry group is teaming up with other ministry groups at the University of Montana to put on a Hunger Awareness Week this March tenth through the thirteenth (Maybe extended?). I am kind of looking toward John and Anne here, but would you guys be available to maybe help with something? I would really like to talk to you guys... I have more details available. Ok number two is that we are planning a mission trip to the diocese mission in Guatemala. It is a ten day trip at the end of May. We asked the mission director of the Helena diocese what we will be doing; he said that it will be more of an emerging experience than a service project, stating for us to better understand the people and their faith (and vis versa) can be more valuable than adding another notch to our social justice belts, plus there is not much more service work to be done there. Other than that, we don't have very many details as to what the trip will consist of. I am hoping that we can find some sort of service project to do while we are there, but who knows what we will find? We were thinking that perhaps just asking for money was not the best way to go about funding this mission trip and that maybe asking for frequent flier miles also would be a better way to go about it. Please get back to me if there is anything you can do. So that is pretty much what is on my plate right now. I would love to hear from you guys, I'm sure Jake can tell you that winter session gets kinda boring so please keep in touch! Love you all to pieces and God be with you in the New Year!

Christmasified and crawling

So here's what the meunier house looked like at christmas and also a video of Emma crawling. She seems to have gotten the motions down. Hope you all had a nice New Years. We spent it having a second christmas and going to bed about 10:30. Not very exciting. It was great to see all the family we saw while we were home. BTW, where are the other babies? I want more pictures of Ben and Sabina!

The Portland Christmas

It was a fine gathering at the Bortens' in Portland. Abe and Desiree joined in from Chicago, and (of course) Sabina was the star attraction. On Sunday before Christmas, Bri hosted an afternoon at the spa. That's where this first photo took place.

Back home, here's the Borten family on Christmas Day. Abe, the high-tech uncle, spent quite a bit of time with the baby.

Finally, we see the newest in parenting devices -- The Mother Machine. It provides answers to all questions about dealing with babies and raising children. Too bad we didn't have that back in the day.

Happy New Year to all!
