GFCCHS softball wrapup

The Central Mustang softball program had a pretty sweet season. This our first year as a varsity program.  We are the only class C school to have a softball team that isn't co-oped with other schools.  All the teams we played during regular season were B schools so the competition was pretty tough.  The Mustang girls finished our regular season seated number 3 going into our divisional tourney.  Not too shabby!  Divisionals were held in Conrad so we were driving back and forth of course.  It rained the whole weekend.  In fact, the fields were so bad on Saturday they moved the games to Shelby.  In a slugfest to determine which team got to advance to state, Central won 27 23.  We had 3 home runs and every starter had a hit in that game.  Maddie was 4 for 5 and had one of the home runs.  It was a fun game even though the rain came about half way through.  We were seated 3rd going to State in Belgrade.
At Belgrade we played Ronan right off the bat and our girls were a bit intimidated.  We lost that game 11-1.  Not our best showing at all.  The next game we played Plains and we won that game 14-11.  Maddie had a monster home run dead center.  That was pretty awesome.  Then we faced Florence and lost that game 11-7.
The Central girls represented their school, their town and themselves with class throughout the season.  It is truly a great group of girls.  Maddie played both catcher and shortstop through the season but was shortstop in all the tournament games.  It was a fun season and we are really looking forward to next year!

A HUGE Thank You to Jimmy!

I want to thank Jimmy for putting on CD form the music that Dad/Grampa played in 1983.  It brought tears to my eyes to hear him talking and singing.  It is also uncanny how much Johnny sounds like Dad.  WOW!!  You are a special guy, Jimmy, and I wanted you to know how much I appreciate your efforts!  Jen got hers and really enjoyed it as she had never met Grampa.  You are the best, kiddo!!

Happy Memorial weekend

I'd like to give a shout out this weekend to all our family members that served in the military. We start with our great grandfather Perry Moore who served in the civil war, our grandfathers George Moore and Tony Poirier, our dad, John and uncles Buck and Paul who served during WWII. Then there is Bill who served during the Vietnam war and now we have Mike, Matt, and Jen Buyske serving in the navy and Ryan, Nick, and Sam serving in the guards. I hope I didn't forget anyone. Blessings to all of you at this time.
