Hey lovely family, just wanted to drop a quick note to let you know that Desiree and John and I are moving to Doha, Qatar for a couple of months. It all happened quite suddenly - we're leaving tomorrow! My firm has an office there and they could use my help with a construction dispute.
We are arriving during the month of Ramadan, which means that the locals don't eat or drink anything from sunup to sundown. We are expected to dress modestly and not eat or drink or play music outside during this time. Apparently, when the sun goes down, there are some great feasts and parties (sans booze, of course, as it is pretty much forbidden over there).

We're looking forward to multiple posts and pics of this adventure. You're right that it came up fast, and sometimes you have to grab that golden ring as you ride on by. Good luck, good travels, and good fortune!
I still can't believe you are going!! I had to google a map to even know where Qatar was! Lots of pictures - we can't wait to see details of your adventure. :)
