Hannah was very diligent and tried to get cousin comments on what was to be done for Christmas exchanges. Unfortunately, only two responded and the rest did not comment! It is hard to know what you would all like to do when no one voices their opinion. The adult siblings have chosen to draw names. What would the 2nd and 3rd generations like to do?? If you would like to draw names with a maximum of $10 spent, vote yea. If not, vote nay. This needs to be resolved by October 1st. We don't mean to interfere in cousin business, but this needs to be taken care of. The majority rules on this, but if you don't want to participate, just ask that your name be removed from the drawing. We think that the calendar idea is a GREAT idea and that it should be done regardless of whether you draw names or not. Each person will order and pay for as many calendars as they would like. BE SURE TO GET YOUR PICTURES INTO HANNAH AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. If you have a question, post it here. Remember to vote. Connie, Jim and Tom had their hand in this, too. We had a lengthy discussion at dinner and this was a consensus of opinion on our part. So you go cousins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think the calendar idea is a good one, too. Put down 2 votes for it (Ry and I). Drawing names is also a fun tradition and I know we've tried to "edit" it before. Is there something we can do in conjunction with the calendar and the states?
In other news, Ry and I are safe in Kentucky. We will send pics of our place when we get some... Woohoo!

Here's my idea for people who want to do both: we could still draw names and, because we now will have a calendar to refer to, you could get someone a small gift anytime, not just christmas. For example, who ever draws me could send me a gift on my birthday, my annivesary, when I graduate, etc. That way it would be a nice surprise to get a cousin present and you wouldn't necessarily know when it was coming!
The WA Buyskes vote YEA for the gift exchange and YEA for the calendar. We will be sending some photos and dates to Hannah.

I vote Yea for the gift exchange too and like Mirandas idea of less time constraint and I like the idea of something with the states. I also think that it might be nice to do "family exchanges" for those of us with spouses and kids - instead of having each individual be in the drawing have the whole family? That way they don't have to have undo stress and when people get their family they could do a family type gift. Maybe?
