Sabina

I'm passing along information from Peter and a picture of the new arrival. It's great to be a Grampa again!
Sabina Isabella Borten was born at 2:58 a.m. November 14, after 23 1/2 hours of labor. (Ugh!) She is 8 pounds, 1 ounce, and about 19 inches long. She's very sweet (so far), and pretty easygoing.

She was born underwater at Alma Birthing Center, in an intact silvery amniotic sac ("in the caul")! Supposedly this happens only about 0.1% of the time. A few months before the birth we'd heard about this phenomenon and old associated belief that a baby born this way would have psychic abilities or other gifts & decided it would be cool if this happened with Sabina. We're very tired and happy. Thanks for your thoughts, prayers, positive wishes, energy, gifts, and love. Love -- Peter, Briana, and Sabina

She is a beautiful baby, you two. I am anxious to hear how it went in water. She doesn't look like a newborn baby, for sure. Congratulations to all three of you!!
