Sabina Isabella Borten was born at 2:58 a.m. November 14, after 23 1/2 hours of labor. (Ugh!) She is 8 pounds, 1 ounce, and about 19 inches long. She's very sweet (so far), and pretty easygoing.
She was born underwater at Alma Birthing Center, in an intact silvery amniotic sac ("in the caul")! Supposedly this happens only about 0.1% of the time. A few months before the birth we'd heard about this phenomenon and old associated belief that a baby born this way would have psychic abilities or other gifts & decided it would be cool if this happened with Sabina.
