It has been a relaxing visit to Chicago. Abe and Dez have been busy, so it made more sense to hang out, instead of chasing after a lot of "visit to Chicago" activities. Yesterday, we watched the ND-Utah game from the warm, dry couch in Chicago, rather than the cold, wet bench in South Bend. Abe and Dez then treated me to a stupendous dinner last night at the North Pond. It's great to be here, and they are wonderful hosts.

Lucky you! I am sure you were happily surprised by the game results. Carter on the other hand was woefully disappointed that he lost his bet with Abe and now has three hours of slavery to repay over Christmas. Way to work an eight year old, Abe!!

Dear Hannah, my bet with Carter was fair and square. Utah was favored to win and i thoroughly expected to be Carter's slave. As it turns out, he will be fetching chex mix for me instead, and i couldnt be happier!
Had a great time with Pops for the weekend. Quite restful, but great to hang out and catch up, play games, and have some great meals at home and out on the town. This afternoon we even had an hour or two at the art museum. Sure is a nice feeling to have your dad around.

Sounds like a blast. I think I'm going to have to disagree with the ND experience being better from a warm dry couch. For example, did you go hang out with Alejandro? No. Did you have a dance party in the parking lot until midnight? No. Somethings are just a little better than sitting at home sometimes. Johnny, I think you missed a great opportunity here.
Regardless, it appears you guys had a great weekend. Can't wait for the holidays!
