Good list. Too bad there are a couple gaps, but I gave Tom all I knew about.
I commented yesterday but don't know what happened to it. Anyway, the picnics started in 1979 and was at the sandbars on the river. I think 1980 was in the same place. Bill started it and we called it the recycling picnic for a while because we used the money we got from recycling aluminum cans to pay for it.
The Wingerter family is in charge of the picnic for 2016. Without any input from anyone yet, my thought is Canyon Ferry sometime in July. We love the Goose Bay area. It is easy to get to and very kid/family friendly. Plus if anyone wanted to make a weekend of it, camping is available! Comments are welcome~
Thanks Abe, it's great to look back and reflect on past family get togethers. Jim, John, and I were together awhile back and, with the help of John's calendar, put together a list of picnic sites. Then when Jim was cleaning out Mom's condo, he came across a list of picnic sites Mom had compiled. We reconsiled the two lists and came up with the list Abe posted. As John points out, there are some gaps. So please take a minute and try to recall some past rendezvous so we can get a complete and accurate list.
