Thanksgiving 2011

Well we had a great family get-together once again in Great Falls, and all those who couldn't make it were missed. A great spread of food and family on Turkey day, as well as a cribbage tournament, were the highlights of Thursday. Grandma and Nate fought hard but couldn't overcome Jimmy and Nick's friend Nick F. for the title. (Suspect, I know, but he was a nice guy)

Friday brought forth the competitive nature of everyone as the 2nd Bi-Annual Grilled Cheese Throwdown got underway. JimW., John, Rika, Bert Geiger, and Joey had some tough judging to do as there were plenty of tasty sandwiches, but ultimately Shannon's emerged victorious.

Finally, on Saturday evening, the family came together once again to support Some Moores (and Jimmy) at Bert & Ernie's. They played plenty of great music and got everyone dancing and singing along.

Overall it was a great weekend full of family, food, and fun. To all those who couldn't be there this year, this is definitely an event you should try to attend. So put it in your plans for 2013!

Had an absolute blast this last weekend. It was great seeing everyone and I couldn't ask for a better family to celebrate the holidays with. I have to brag on the best Pictionary team too: Rileigh, Nick and I rocked the Pictionary table on Thursday night.

Again, great time this weekend. These Biennial/Bi-Annual Thanksgivings are awesome.

Funions.

We sure missed everyone! It looks like Thursday and Friday were a blast! Our dinner for four paled in comparison but we were with you in spirit! We LOVED Saturday night - it was definitely worth the drive!! Can't wait until Shannon's wedding!

Looks like everyone enjoyed themselves...I would say I was super jealous...but swimming with the sharks, turtles and manta rays in the crystal clear waters of Palau was not a bad way to spend my Turkey holiday. Love you all and cannot wait until summer!

Highlights: peeling onions with Joey, making basically the same grilled cheese as Randa, a mini keg full of foam, Burt's smoked turkey, hanging out with Dinger's dad while making my sandwich, visiting with Mary and Jim and others about family history in their living room while a crazy game of pictionary took place in the next room, Angus, the judges reading their critiques of the grilled cheese, hanging out at Connie and Bill's with Jim and Gramma, watching people dance and sing along at B&E's on Saturday, decorating Grama's house on Sunday.

Lowlights: losing in cribbage tourney to Nate and Gramma, losing in grilled cheese competition to Nate's lousy jalapeno business, getting sick as a dog on Saturday.

On balance: an absolutely terrific holiday.

Love the comments. Abe's summary is great, yet we all have our own perspective.

Highlights: making gravy side by side with Briana - hers vegetarian, mine "animal." Sounding like my own dad ("If yer not cookin' get out of the kitchen!"). Getting a first-round bye in the cribbage tournament, the only victory for Bert and me. Playing that crazy game of Pictionary at Wingerters' (lowlight: losing). Putting on the zebra shirt and judging the grilled cheese entries. Hanging out at hotel breakfast with kids and grandkids. Master Business lunch with Mo, Bri, Diz, Abe, and Kit. Watching Abe play some blazing leads on the acoustic guitar at Bert & Ernie's. Actually having my sister Jan be right for once by insisting that the last song be "Mustang Sally" (this time I liked playing it).

Lowlights: Saying goodbye (for the time being).

Y'all are great. Hope to see you soon.

I love the recaps from John and Abe. We had such a wonderful time catching up with everyone. Here are my lights:
Highlights -
Hanging with the greatest family EVA.
Lowlights -
Missing the folks that couldn't make it.
Can't wait for the next round!

It has been a busy week since the big happenings so I am a bit slow in puttting down my thoughts here. I LOVED having my house full to the brim with family. Our door is always open to any and all even tho, if you are sleeping on the family room couch you will either be woken by Jim and I leaving to deliver papers or Angus with his nose in your face! As Nate says...our couches are very comfy! I truly missed Jake and all the others who couldn't make it this year. You were definitely in my thoughts and prayers.

Here's to a Blessed Christmas/Holiday season to you all!
