Poor Grizzlies

Just updating all of you. The Cats were dominating in their 16-6 win over the Grizzlies. It was awesome to see them do it in person. Sure, the Griz do get to go to the playoffs, but we get bragging rights for the third time in four years. It's not like the Cat's would have won anything in the playoffs anyway. If the Cats were winless going into Cat/Griz and beat the Griz, the season would be a success. Also, Abe, you are sooooo lucky I didn't take that first bet, although I am content with my $5 win. POOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOR GRIZZLIES!

Once in a while isn't 3 out of 4 years. Biggest Cal Poly fan: Nate Moore

What is this -- Cal Poly fans? You gotta treat this like family! Duke it out at home, but when somebody from outside comes in, you stand behind the family. I stood behind the Cats when they won the National Championship -- way back in '84. 'Course, that was before you guys were even born. Cal Poly, for cryin' out loud.

Regarding Saturday's game -- congrats to the Cats. They played well and won on the up and up.

When it's a pure hatred for anything marroon and silver, it's hard to back the Grizzlies no matter what. It's been a long time since I adopted this slogan as my own: My two favorite teams are the Bobcats and whoever is playing the Grizzlies. I don't know if I'll ever be able to change. But hey, weirder stuff has happened. Just please don't hold your breath Griz fans.

yeah, well....soon (if you are still thinking about it) you will be attending the school with maroon and gold. and i agree with johnny, we have to support each other here!!! i mean, MT all the way...no matter the school!! I would be cheering for cats if they had to play Cal Poly and UM wasn't in.....oh well.....GO TECH

What school will I be going to with Maroon and Gold? Anyway, if the Griz win everyone has to put up with the swagger that comes with U of M fans and a W. It also just inflates their heads as well as their reputation. Reputation is huge considering they are NOT one of the top 8 teams in the playoffs but somehow pull a home game!! How does that happen. They are ranked #3 going into Cat/Griz and lose to the #22 team. The Griz should have dropped out of the top 8. Still, they get a home game. It's amazing. I just want them to lose so that everyone can realize just because of a big stadium and some great years in the past, the Griz are no longer that team that dominates.

Sorry about the improper puncuation. I noticed it when I was done but didn't want to re-write the whole post. Who is McBuyske? Molly? Also, I don't get the first line in your post. Please explain. To post you have to be a part of this blog and your name isn't on the side. Ask Abe for an invite. Then you go to IPOWER Blog button or something and you can post. But do explain your comments.

First of all...mcbuyske is Meghan you dork, it doesn't take a detective to figure that out. Secondly, I don't see the reason behind your point. UM has a nice stadium, so what. That isn't why they have dominated. They have dominated because they have had talented players and coaches enter the program and do something with it. Don't be jealous.

Nateusmoore said...

Also, it would take a detective considering I looked at the front page of this blog and saw that their was a blogger named meggers. Naturally I would believe meggers to be Meghan Buyske. Also, Molly Buyske... same initials of Meghan and I don't know their middle names so I didn't know if the 'C' is a clever play on an Irish name or what. So there.

As I knew you would, you totally missed the point of me pointing out the stadium thing. The stadium just adds to Griz bias. You cannot tell me that because they have a very nice stadium and a history of dominance that it doesn't help them get a first round home game. Tell me this: How is it that the Griz get a first round home game and Easter Washington gets a first round road game? EWU beat the Griz this season and won the conference championship this year. This just doesn't make sense. I'm jealous that the heads of the NCAA D-IAA football system aren't as biased towards us at MSU. It certainly helps you Griz fans out but it sure pisses a lot of other football fans off. I'd love to hear from you Jen.

Man....you are so clever. First off, I didn't know that megs has two code names, so I will give you that. Secondly, I am not sure how the whole NCAA Div IA system works, so I can't tell you why the Griz have a home game. I will tell you this though, and I think you will agree, I think the playoff system is the best way to go, and it should be implemented throughout all of college football!! Hope you had a great turkey day!

Sorry to jump in this so late, but i tend to agree with nate here. i find it very humorous that when i sat in the griz student section during the cat-griz game, i found that the griz students know little to nothing about football. its very annoying when i try to insult a griz fan about their football team and they dont even understand what i say. yet they seem to think that their team is the best ever. it is the ignorant arrogance of the griz nation that makes me dislike them so much. GO SAINTS.

All I have to say to those Cat fans, is think about the Irish. You think because they are a 9-2 team who've only beaten three teams with winning records they deserve to be going to a BCS game over an Ohio State or an Oregon? Don't get me wrong, I am a huge ND fan and am glad they will be in a BCS game, but it's a comparison to your train of thought on the Griz. Not quite with the home-field thing, but the Griz bring crowds no matter how the team is doing that year, same as the Irish. It sucks for you Cat fans, but that's the way it is. Until the Cats upgrade their stadium, win a couple of national championships, and start winning more, nothing is going to change.

Nateusmoore said...

I agree that the Cats need to upgrade the stadium. We have three national championships but none in the last... 20 years, so yeah that hurts too. I agree with most everything you say, I was just bringing up the fact that it sucks the way it is. I, on the other hand, do believe that ND is deserving of a Fiesta Bowl bid or any BCS bowl for that matter. I don't believe that the Griz should have been ranked so high in the playoffs. I guess we'll just agree to disagree.

I think Joe raised a very good point. Now, I am not going to sit here and try to defend the Griz, because I would fit into the category that Nick talked about earlier. I do not know a whole lot about the history of Grizzly football, nor do I really care. I enjoy watching a good team play, and in the past few years, the Griz have had some amazing talent, I think even Nate can attest to that. I agree that Lulay was a blessing to the Cats, and he did a lot for the program, and he contributed a great amount to the football team. So I think that those who are Cats fans can say that they watch football because they like to watch Lulay. It doesn't matter. Honestly, I am not a die hard fan, I just love giving the cousins a little tussle. I do say that ND will have its work cut out for them!
