40 years ago on this Flag Day, the most wonderful thing in the world (in my opinion) happened - my parents were married. Since then they have had many adventures (such as spending the first few months of their marriage on a look-out tower), raised 6 children, welcomed 4 new "children" into their family, and are very happy grandparenting 9 (and counting) grandchildren. They get to celebrate 4 decades together by heading to Ireland for 3 weeks with two of their closest friends. Thank you for everything you have given us and for being such a wonderful example of love. Love you both and congratulations!

Raising a glass to the two most amazing people I know. Any couple would be very lucky to share a day of the love you two have lived for 40 years. So blessed to have been a part of that for.....almost 40. Enjoy your well deserved getaway!

Happy anniversary! I remember the sunny day of your wedding, along with Dad's bright advice to Jan as they stood in the vestibule before walking down the aisle: "You don't have to do this." We're all glad you did. See you soon.
