2015 Family Picnic - 2007 Revisited

Who can forget the Moore Family Reunion at the Tenderfoot Motel and Cabins in White Sulphur Springs in 2007? It was a great time with a ton of wonderful memories. Well, we're going back. The 2015 Family Picnic will be held at the Tenderfoot on Sunday - August 23rd beginning at noon. There's a pool, a gazebo, and we'll have a room or two with kitchens and bathrooms. In order to use the gathering area and pool, I committed to paying for at least 2 rooms. I think we'll be staying that Saturday night. Contact me if you want to be part of the pre-party on Saturday night and I'll make the reservation for you. Rooms prices range from $60 -$90. It's going to be a great time and I encourage everyone to join in. Do me a favor and RSVP as soon as you can by commenting to this post. Also, in your comment, recall a memory you have from a past Family Picnic. Once I know who's going to attend, we'll figure out who can bring what. Love you all, and I look forward to seeing everyone in August. Tom Oh, and one of my Family Picnic memories is way back at the beginning when we ferried people to the sand dunes on the Missouri River. The numbers were a lot smaller back then, but we had a great time skiing and swimming.

Happy 8th Anniversary, Meghan & Ryan!

I can't believe it has already been 8 years since we celebrated your union on that hot, hot, hot July afternoon. But what a union it has been! 3 adorable children, 3 houses, living in Kentucky, living in Grandma's basement, living apart for a year while Ryan was deployed, football, softball - you guys seem to have covered it all! And yet through it all your love has remained strong and your marriage faithful. I hope you have a wonderful day! Love you!

Happy Birthday, Bridger!

We're posting a little late on this momentous day – Bridger has turned 18! Hard to imagine that our little mophead has become an adult. We hope he keeps rockin' with his guitar and enjoying his increasing maturity. Happy birthday, B!

Happy 30th Jen!

Happy birthday to one of the best older sisters a girl could ask for! I'm so happy I have an adventure buddy (skydiving, white water rafting, ziplining) and I know there will be more in our future. I'm so lucky that you're not only my sister, but my best friend. Keep kicking butt in that courtroom! I'll raise a glass to you on your special day. Love you!

Happy Birthday, Shane!

I have to admit, it took me way too long to realize Shane and Bri were birthday buddies! A happy birthday to the love of my life. You have fit into this family so well. For the next 4 days we will be the same age! I hope you had a great day (I actually know it was great, because I was there)! Love you!

Happy Birthday, Briana!

Happy 35th birthday to my favorite youngest daughter! You do so much as a great mother, entrepreneur, and all-around holistic human. We hope you have a great time on this milestone birthday.

Happy 65th Birthday, Jan!

A very happy 65th birthday to Mom! You are one of the most amazing women I have ever met and I am constantly learning from you every day. I hope you celebrated your birthday in style over in Ireland. And I am glad(?) you have mastered the art of the selfie. Love you and have a wonderful trip!

Happy 40th Anniversary!

40 years ago on this Flag Day, the most wonderful thing in the world (in my opinion) happened - my parents were married. Since then they have had many adventures (such as spending the first few months of their marriage on a look-out tower), raised 6 children, welcomed 4 new "children" into their family, and are very happy grandparenting 9 (and counting) grandchildren. They get to celebrate 4 decades together by heading to Ireland for 3 weeks with two of their closest friends. Thank you for everything you have given us and for being such a wonderful example of love. Love you both and congratulations!

Love,
Molly

GFCCHS softball wrapup

The Central Mustang softball program had a pretty sweet season. This our first year as a varsity program.  We are the only class C school to have a softball team that isn't co-oped with other schools.  All the teams we played during regular season were B schools so the competition was pretty tough.  The Mustang girls finished our regular season seated number 3 going into our divisional tourney.  Not too shabby!  Divisionals were held in Conrad so we were driving back and forth of course.  It rained the whole weekend.  In fact, the fields were so bad on Saturday they moved the games to Shelby.  In a slugfest to determine which team got to advance to state, Central won 27 23.  We had 3 home runs and every starter had a hit in that game.  Maddie was 4 for 5 and had one of the home runs.  It was a fun game even though the rain came about half way through.  We were seated 3rd going to State in Belgrade.
At Belgrade we played Ronan right off the bat and our girls were a bit intimidated.  We lost that game 11-1.  Not our best showing at all.  The next game we played Plains and we won that game 14-11.  Maddie had a monster home run dead center.  That was pretty awesome.  Then we faced Florence and lost that game 11-7.
The Central girls represented their school, their town and themselves with class throughout the season.  It is truly a great group of girls.  Maddie played both catcher and shortstop through the season but was shortstop in all the tournament games.  It was a fun season and we are really looking forward to next year!

A HUGE Thank You to Jimmy!

I want to thank Jimmy for putting on CD form the music that Dad/Grampa played in 1983.  It brought tears to my eyes to hear him talking and singing.  It is also uncanny how much Johnny sounds like Dad.  WOW!!  You are a special guy, Jimmy, and I wanted you to know how much I appreciate your efforts!  Jen got hers and really enjoyed it as she had never met Grampa.  You are the best, kiddo!!

Happy Memorial weekend

I'd like to give a shout out this weekend to all our family members that served in the military. We start with our great grandfather Perry Moore who served in the civil war, our grandfathers George Moore and Tony Poirier, our dad, John and uncles Buck and Paul who served during WWII. Then there is Bill who served during the Vietnam war and now we have Mike, Matt, and Jen Buyske serving in the navy and Ryan, Nick, and Sam serving in the guards. I hope I didn't forget anyone. Blessings to all of you at this time.
