Happy Birthday Emma!

Emma Joy is 8 years old today.  She loves dance, gymnastics, school and her friends.  She is planning a science birthday party for her friends.  She is so sweet to McKinley!  It is fun to see them together. We can't wait for the summer and more fun camping trips.  I hope you enjoyed your special day Emma!  Love you~

Happy Birthday, Maurika!

On April Fools Day a few years back in the quaint Austrian city of Innsbruck, Maurika entered the world as a Sunday's child. It has been my blessing to wish her a wonderful birthday 42 times since then.

Happy Birthday McKinley Jeanne!

So I am a little late with this post but McKinley turned 1 on Friday March 20th.  Ben, Maddie, McKinley and I traveled to Dillon that day to check out Western as a college for Maddie.  Then we were able to spend the night at the Wingerter house in Butte for the big celebration.  McKinley had a great day and is such a sweetie!  I love first birthday photos!

Henry

Johnny mentioned an updated photo of Henry in his post so here are a few of the faces we are seeing these days. Henry is doing well and continuing to grow and discover all kinds of things in the world around him. Erin started back up at work on Friday so that was a little tough, but her mom is watching Henry so we know he's in good hands. Hopefully we'll get a chance to see a lot of you this summer so you can meet him.

Charlie's 5th Birthday

(I'm not winning any mom points lately with my delayed posts! Ergh!)

March 15th was Charlie's 5th birthday.  She celebrated in style with an "art" party with four of her friends and lots of aunts and uncles.  Noni made another awesome batch of cakes.

She continues to amaze us with her humor and is incredibly sweet with Dylan.  She carries the only girl torch confidently but would love a girl cousin on the Buyske side :)

She loves her preschool, as do we, and especially likes the cooking lessons they have taught her - she's a mini-muffin-making expert!

Henry Thomas Buyske

Ann and I had a nice visit yesterday with Joey, Erin, and Henry. I'm sorry we didn't take any photos to share. The baby looks very much like a Buyske boy, with lots of hair. Maybe Joey and Erin will post an updated photo soon. Jan let on that Matt and Kelly are expecting Number Six – maybe a girl this time, based on Matt's descriptions of Kelly's cravings. Happy Birthday (a day late) to Charlie Shulte!

Welcome Dylan James!

I'm incredibly late posting this but still in the same month as his birth, so it balances out right?

Dylan James Schulte entered the world on February 12th at 2:56 PM weighing in at 7 pounds 12 ounces and 20.5 inches long.  I had the most amazing team through the whole thing - Ryan, his mom Judy, my mom, and two incredible nurses - Orpha and Ann.  Apparently Orpha is legendary in Helena and I now know why!

He is doing very well and quite content most of the time.  Tyson and Charlie absolutely adore him!

BEN AND ADRIENNE ARE GETTING MARRIED!!

We are very excited that these two wonderful people are getting hitched this summer.  Save the date for Georgetown Lake on July 9.  (I know this is Thursday so not real convenient for some, but Nick has to report for an OCS trip to South Dakota on Thursday evening and he will be gone for 2 weeks.  This is the only day available for the Wingy clan!)  Time and exact location and other details to be announced later.
In other news, these awesome kids are expecting baby number 2 on Sept. 23rd!

Happy Birthday, Dad

Happy birthday to a pretty amazing dad, grandpa, husband and all around guy.  This is from my optometry school graduation - one of the kajillion events he an my mom have made time to attend for their kids over the years.  Sounds like birthday was spent selling tickets at Helena High, but he'll get a birthday dinner with his lady and some cake with the Schulte crew after.  Hope it's a great one, pop.

Mom and Dad celebrated last night at the Rib and Chop House and he's on the road in Butte (of all places) right now.  Happy Birthday, Dad!

Greetings from Doha

A bit more than a week in Doha, Qatar, and we're having a great time. Nice weather – not too hot, but definitely warmer than Montana. Abe and Dez and Johnny and Poppy are all fine. I won't assail you with a full travelogue, but here are a couple photos. The third one shows our visit to a mosque, where Ann needed to don the traditional garb in order to enter.

Mom's new digs!

Here are some photos of Mom/Grandma's new place at the Highgate.  She had just come back from a long ride in the country and was a bit tired.  But the room turned out very nice and she is settling in quite nicely.  We are still working on getting a few things changed over and working right but overall, the move went well.  She has her computer, TV and favorite chair.  I think she even likes her smaller bed!

Happy Birthday, Mom!

A little late in the day but the wishes are just the same - Happy Birthday to the best mom anyone could ask for!  Dinner last night with Shannon and Birch and then my dad's enchiladas tonight were part of the celebration.  Happy Birthday, mom!  Below is a picture from the Ragnar race that she ran in September - she was the most positive and upbeat person in the van which is basically how she is in all situations.

Great Grandma Jeanne and McKinley Jeanne~

I just wanted to share this very sweet picture of Mom/Grandma holding McKinley.  McKinley was fascinated by the elder Jeanne and they chatted together for quite some time.  What a great memory for all of us at the table!

All Wingerters great and small gathered on January 1 to celebrate our family Christmas.  We had a wonderful celebration and Mom/Grandma joined us for a terrific dinner.  We are truly blessed and looking forward to a great 2015!

Happy Belated Birthday to Mikayla!! It was a busy month and so I missed throwing up a birthday shout out on her actual birthday. But I am so happy to have this angel of a 15 year old in our family. She is such a sweet, kind, thoughtful, fun, and fabulous girl! We are lucky to call her our first little Philpot!!

Henry Thomas Buyske

Henry Thomas Buyske joined us last night at 10:35 PM.  He weighed in at 9lbs7oz and was 22 in. long.  Erin and Henry are doing great, and we were so glad we could experience this process in the comfort of our own home.  It made a world of difference.  The labor wasn't easy, but Erin did great and we were all surprised at the size of this boy.  I guess us Buyske boys can only make more Buyske boys!  Hope everyone is well and we get to touch base over the holiday season.  Take care!  Love, Joey, Erin, and Henry.

Happy Thanksgiving

I want to wish everyone in this family-from 90 year olds to 10 day olds-a very happy Thanksgiving. We have so much to be thankful for, so let's not forget all our blessings. Safe travels to all those journeying out to visit friends and relatives for a celebration.

Welcome, Sailor!

On the day after her seventh birthday, Sabina welcomes her new sister to the world – Sailor Celestia, born 4:12 this morning and weighing in at 6 lb, 1 oz. Life is wonderful!

Sabina turns Seven today! She had a big sleepover party last weekend, and she'll spend this weekend eagerly awaiting the arrival of her sister, Sailor. Happy birthday, precious girl!

A bit of history

This evening, I attended a talk at the Montana Historical Society by Ken Robison, author of Confederates in Montana Territory. The publisher is History Press. Take a look at the photo in the top middle of the cover. Chapter 9 of the book covers the Moore brothers, Perry and John, along with mention of other family members. Earlier, I shared an article by Mr. Robison (essentially the same information). I talked with him this evening, and he's interested in learning more about the Moores. He was particularly interested in Nancy Moore's diary on the trip from Missouri to Montana. A couple years ago, I met a couple members of the Hall family who have the original diary. I will work to put Ken Robison in touch with them. Anyway, you may find the book interesting. I also talked with Scott Hibbard (of the "northern" Sieben Ranch), who asked about Jim (the elder). He's interested in finding out more about Jim's novels.

New Lt. Commander Mike

We just spent a fun filled weekend in Silverdale, WA with Michael on his 37th birthday.  Kelly and boys drove down Saturday afternoon and Matt joined us that evening after work.  Michael had asked his commander if Matt could swear him in and we could pin him.  With that permission, the "ceremony" was held Saturday night after the ND game!  So proud of both boys as they have both achieved the Lt. Commander rank!  There is a picture of all the Buyske boys minus Grampa and Joey.  Teddy entertained himself with Michael's pots and pans!  We enjoyed playing with all five boys!!  Congratulations to you, Michael!!
