Poppy Oliver Moore

Yesterday, we were joined in Doha by our daughter, Poppy Oliver Moore.  She was born metric: weighing 3.465 kg and 52 cm tall.  Mother and daughter are both happy and healthy, and John Rubin has been curious and kind.  We very much look forward to introducing her to you all!

Carter in Cooperstown

First, I wanted to say thanks to the many of you who donated to Carter's baseball team in helping them get to Cooperstown, New York for the baseball tournament. It really was a once in a lifetime opportunity and the coolest thing we have ever done as a family. It was amazing! Second, I thought I would share his Cooperstown video being that it might get inducted into the Hall of Fame in that very same town. I need to preface it with a bit of an explanation just so you will get the full value of what happens while you watch. In the beginning of the video, he is just a foot away from a homerun- so fun! But shortly thereafter, his little pickle ends up in an unintentional tackle. Really, he did not mean to mow down that kid that was standing right in the middle of the baseline. But to make matters memorable, that little throwdown caused his ejection from that game AND the following two games - intense, I know! And though it was difficult to be kicked out of the final games of the tournament, he now considers it a pretty great story. And to make it all the more ironic - in the last tournament of the summer in Utah, he was PLAYING third base and a kid slid into him and broke his leg. He is already on his second cast being that he already wore through his first one. Anyway, thanks again to everyone and can't wait to see you all in just a few short weeks!! Happy Birthday, Annie!

Well, it's busy birthday time again. Third day this week for a family event – this time Little Annie Ohio herself! (But don't tell her, she still thinks of herself as being, like, 37 or so.) Really, though, she has a heart for all the ages. I, for one, and so happy that she brought her heart to Montana 24 years ago. Happy Birthday, Ann – we all love you.

Miranda is ... older!

Miranda Jeanne is another year older and as awesome as ever.  She is a great daughter, a fantastic sister, a stupendous wife and mother and a great and caring nurse.  We are so blessed to have you live so close to us that we get to spend time with you and the kids.  This summer has been great with all the camping trips.  Enjoy your day and go get 'em this next year!

Nate's 29 Today

Happy Birthday Nate! The California Kid and the last of the "triplets" is celebrating his 29th birthday today. This past year has been an eventful ride for Nate. He's been working hard, and last year became a Corporate Vice-President with New York Life. In my research, he's one of the youngest CVP's in the Company! When he's not working he's playing hard, and always seems to be on the go. In the last few months he's spent a lot of time on the water at Discovery Bay, been to San Diego, Texas, Nevada, Colorado, Montana, and I know I'm missing an adventure or two. Oh, and his sports teams came through for him this year. Both the Seahawks and Spurs won championships. Nate, your Mom and I are both very proud of you, and we hope your 30th year is as eventful and exciting as your 29th year. We're looking forward to seeing you for the two upcoming weddings in Montana. Love you!

Bill's 70th

Although Bill's birthday was officially last Monday, we celebrated Saturday at Mary & Jim's house.  Some of Bill's family was able to join as well as some old friends. One of Bill's nieces brought homemade potatoe salad all the way from Spokane..yum!! And someone brought some homemade small pasties which were a big hit. Connie knocked herself out supplying food and beverages. Good food, good company, and I think Bill had a good time, I know everyone else did.

Ryan's Birthday!

Happy birthday to a genuinely nice guy!  He is a great coach and role model for the kids he teaches; a great dad, husband, son and "son".  He is out doing something he loves best today - golfing with his brothers!  Enjoy your day, Ryan.  We love you!

Billy is 70!

Well, I feel like an idiot!  I cannot find one picture of Bill on my IPhotos!  We just want to give our very favorite Butte family member a shout out today on entering his 7th decade of life!!  The celebration will be Saturday at Mary's at 4:00!  Come and celebrate our special guy!!!

Samuel Jesse is 21!

Watch out world!  Sam is now an official adult!
We had a great weekend camping with Ben, Adrienne and family and Randa and gang.  We got to visit Virginia City and have fun with some great people!  Sam returns to Idaho next week for his 2nd AT with the Guard then back to school in Bozeman.

Reunion Update

We have a slight change in the agenda. On Saturday, the John Moore siblings will host lunch at the main lodge, Camp Mak-a-Dream. This will take place at 12:30 after the tours in Deer Lodge. Jan will coordinate our various contributions to the lunch. Remember, we'll have a silent auction on Saturday evening. Be thinking of something to put in the auction. The more it's related to the Moore Family, the better.

Teddy is One!

This sweet, adorable, sleepy, darling of a boy is ONE today!  My how time flies.  Seems like I was just in Texas and with the boys when you were born, Teddy!!  We love you and pray for God's blessings on you this special day!!

Baby Girl Getting Close!

Hey all.  Just a quick note to let you know that all is well over here in Doha.  Diz and Johnny and I just had a nice trip to Greece, where I took the photo above (many more on Johnny's blog).  As I believe most of you know, our baby girl is due in August.  Despite being 8 months pregnant, Diz was a champ and climbed hundreds of stairs in Hydra, Greece - there are no cars, and the attempted donkey ride was a disaster. Much love ...

Briana turns 34 today. She was born on a Sunday and celebrates this day with her family in Greece. I had a great visit with them for a few days before they departed, and I hope they're enjoying a vivacious vacation.

Happy birthday to an amazing mother. You have such a kind heart and a gentle soul. You leave such a wonderful impression on all who interact with you. Even though you have to spend your day recovering from surgery, it still doesn't mean you shouldn't celebrate the kick ass person you are! I sure love you!!

Utah Valley Marathon

Another one in the books.  A beautiful run down through the Provo Canyon into Provo.
A great Moore family run coming up in September.  Nate, Jen, Tom, and I will be participating in the Napa Valley Ragnar Relay, a 12 member 200 mile overnight relay.  Should be fun!

Mom's 90th Birthday Party

Hi beautiful family!
Just want to put my two cents worth in concerning Gramma's 90th birthday party at Camp Make-A-Dream.  I was a definite naysayer when Johnny first brought this up.  Too expensive, too isolated, not what Mom would want!  Well, Marc, Johnny and I went up last Friday to check it out and I was totally won over.  It is a beautiful spot with lots to offer.  There is mini golf, sand volleyball, a full basketball court, a huge hot tub, a cool pool, a beautiful lodge and deck!!  The sleeping arrangements are not barrack style bunks but wings in a cabin with three bunk beds and a couple of singles.  It is a bit expensive, but totally worth what you would be getting.  I hope that those that were thinking of camping or staying in Deer Lodge might give it a second thought.  Johnny and I are going to get together and see what the final cost to people will be.  More to follow!!

It is Jake's 29th birthday today!   As these pictures show he likes to dress up like a goofball but this mom believes he is a pretty great guy, a fantastic son, a good friend and an amazing doctor.  Happy birtyday Jakey!  We love you tons....MOM

YMCA Famous Potato Marathon

You can't be a runner in Idaho and not run the Famous Potato Marathon. Nice scenery mostly along the Boise River.

Flying Pig Marathon Relay

I was in Cincinnati over the wekend and participated in a 4 man marathon relay. Delta had 40 teams and our team took #1. We placed 16th out of 149 corporate teams. I ran the second leg which was 5.2 miles. After I handed off I felt like Forrest Gump and just kept running. I ran the remaining 14 miles of the marathon and saw some gorgeous parts of Cincinnati.

Kesiah is 10!

Kesiah has happily graduated into double digits!! She is a great kid who works and plays hard. Last week she hit her first homerun in girl pitch softball. We love her determination and fun witty attitude. So glad we have this doll as ours!

Happy birthday to Jim!  We had a great birthday day yesterday watching Madison and the Central Mustang softball team.  We had a good birthday dinner at the Montana Club and some drinks with friends~doesn't get much better!

I am super excited for Emma this week.  She gets to spend Thursday afternoon showing me around her school and classroom from Grandfriends' Day.  Then on Friday the Meunier family flies out to California to go to Disneyland and San Diego.  What a great birthday week!

Happy Birthday, Maurika!

It's the first day of April, and Maurika marks another milestone! Born on a Sunday, April Fool's Day, Maurika arrived in the Austrian city of Innsbruck. Over the years, she led her siblings in derring-do, guided her friends with counsel (and a bit of mischief), and raised her children with love. She's about to embark on a new adventure, and we wish her all good fortune and high prospects. And I look forward to her party on Saturday.
