Famous Cousins

During this latest trip to Chicago, Abe and I had the opportunity to get some pretty sweet seats at a Cubs-Brewers game. Little did we know that afterward we would be made famous by the local WGN station. I'll be available for autographs and the family picnic, but sadly Abe will have to field requests via this blog, Facebook, or conventional e-mail.

So Sam's team came up a bit short this past weekend at the state tournament. They had a great tournament and took second place after a 10 inning, one run loss in the championship game. So this means the team is not going to the regional tournament this coming weekend...

Now the family picnic is for sure in the Falls!!

WE will meet at our house and party in the back. Bring your swim suit...the pool is awesome!

I would like to know who is coming so we can plan the food and other essentials. So please respond to this post!

Also, we are asking any families that attend to please bring a salad or dessert to share.

She Is Done!

Congratulations to Jen as she wrapped up two solid months of studying from 8 to 5 on a daily basis at the State Law Library.  She took the State Bar on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.  Suffice it to say that she was back in Helena having a few shots by Wednesday night.  We are so proud of you for seeing it through Jen!  

HAPPY 30TH BIRTHDAY, MIRANDA JEANNE!

Today is Miranda's 30th birthday! YAY! And we are in Billings for the baseball tournament so we get to celebrate with her.

So happy day Miranda! You are an amazing young woman, terrific Mom, daughter, wife, sister, nurse etc etc. We love you tons and are so proud of all you have accomplished.

Happy 25th Nathaniel John!!

Today is Nate's 25th birthday. I'm lucky enough to be in San Antonio to help him celebrate. His life has been very eventful this past year and this next year promises to be just as busy. He's moving on with New York Life and is right on schedule with his development. He's earned numerous industry designations in his first 14 months in the business. His Mom and I are extremely proud of him and can't wait to see what the next year brings. Happy Birthday Nate and all the best as you start your next year in Wichita, KS.

CHAMPIONS!

Sam's team, the Great Falls Electrics, won the Northern A district tournament in Fort MaCleod Alberta. They won four straight games and qualified to go to the state tournament in Billings beginning Thursday. As the scoreboard says, we romped through the last game, and yes we are the home team! This is the first district champion team from Great Falls in a long time. Many of the teams in our district are the only team in town so they have a lot of older players..18 and 19 year olds. We are a "feeder" team for a AA team so we have younger kids playing...mostly 16 and 17 year olds. So this team really rocks!!

Congratulations Sam! Have fun in Billings and play well.

It's Ryan's Birthday!

Happy birthday to our favorite son-in-law!  Hope you enjoy your special day (even if you are sharing it with your brother).  You are a fantastic dad, husband and "son".  You are in our daily prayers and will be until you return next September.  Love you!

New News

Hey everyone. I hope your summers are going great. I've talked to some of you lately and it sounds like everyone is having a fun one. Just wanted to give a quick update on life down South: New York Life is treating me well and I'm loving the job. Some of you knew that I was giong to be moving soon and I finally found out. I am moving to the bustling metropolis of Wichita, KS! It looks like I'm moving around August 13th so that'll be interesting. It's going to be tough leaving SA, as it's a great town, but I'm looking forward to a new adventure. I'll definitley miss the live country music (Yeah, country) and the insanely delicious Mexican food.

Just thought I'd let you know where life is taking me... the Midwest. Hope all is well in your necks of the woods and I hope I get to see some of you soon. Love ya'll.

Congratulations to All of the Dieters!

I think you guys are all awesome who took part in Hannah's diet plan.  Johnny did so well and lost weight and it shows.  I did have to post this and just say - I know that you had to drink a lot of water, but isn't this just taking it a bit to far . . . . . .

A little crazy to think that just three years ago today we were sweating it out in that church!!! Now look at you, two kids, a dog and one house later and you guys are well on your way!! I am so lucky to be able to spend as much time with you and the kids as I do and I am very thankful that Ryan is so patient with us siblings (especially the girls!) :) Have a great day you two and take time to do something for yourselves! Family Picnic Idea

Hey all, I tried to post this in the comments below, but for some reason I can't. Sorry to say we can't make the picnic this year. I'm headed to Alaska on the 7th. We'll miss you guys.

Also, there has been some chatter recently about lifting the annual burden of planning the picnic from the six uncles and aunts. Someone recently expressed to me the idea that we should start running the job down the cousin chain, oldest to youngest (and by the time we get to Madison, she'll be old enough to handle it - in fact, she may be already!) One proposed rule: it should always remain in Montana.

Thoughts? Objections?

We have had anniversaries and birthdays up the wazoo lately! We want to make sure that Jim and Mary don't get left out since it is their big 30th! You two are the best and always fun to be around. Let's give a big cheer for Johnny and Ann who are celebrating their 18th anniversary today! What a wonderful couple they are. Michael got word today that he passed his optometry boards! We are so proud of you son! Congratulations!!

35 Years Later...

35 years ago today 2 people made the commitment to spend the rest of their lives together. And what a life it has been! 6 children, 5 grandchildren (and counting...), wonderful friends, and a big, loving extended family. What more could someone ask for? Well, maybe a big enough house to fit everyone. ;) We had a really great party for Mom and Dad on Saturday, so thanks again to Mary for letting us have it at her house and thanks to everyone who could make it. Happy 35th Anniversary Mom and Dad!! You are an amazing couple who really exemplify a true bond with someone. Alright, enough with the mushy stuff. I hope you both have a wonderful day!! Happy Birthday Nate!

Yesterday was Nate Meunier's birthday and it is the BIG one...30!! Miranda and Nate are on vacation as of yesterday...driving to Minnesota for a wedding and to see some friends then to Wisconsin to see some of Nate's family. Sounds like an awesome way to spend a birthday...driving that far with a 3 year old and a 10 month old!!

But maybe he and Emma can do some more dancing!

It's Abe's birthday today, just five days after the Big Bash in Chicago to celebrate Desiree's birthday. Abe turns 36, and I think he can look back with some satisfaction at what he's accomplished thus far. Of course, a few incidents from his younger years ... we'll just ignore those. Have a great day, Abe, and celebrate with gusto!

Way to Go, Jen!

We would like to give Jen a big pat on the back as she completed a marathon race today in Bozeman. It was quite the course but she stuck with it and saw it through! The first picture sees her take off all peppy! The second is at about 16 miles when all was not so well. The third is at the 22 mile mark and she is pretty cramped up but still going. The fourth is coming up the home stretch to Cat stadium. The fifth gives you the perfect shot of how she felt. We are so proud of her for seeing it through! Love you, Jen!!!
