Well it's almost in the books, but Happy Birthday, Ryan. Hope you're spending it nicely with your lady and the little guy. Sounds like we're losing you to the potato state for the family picnic but we'll be thinking of ya and know that you'll be keeping those future french fries safe.

Platypus POW!!! Saved a life again...
I teach an entrepreneur/business class at the middle school here in Missoula, and last quarter we were inspired to do an infomercial spoof on ShamWOW!
(you've gotta check out Rileigh's star role!!!)
Results: well... see for yourself!
Platypus POW! (click here)
Also exciting! We designed a retail bag for the Platypus that is going into retail drug, grocery and club chains 2010! How fun is that? Have you ever seen a flosser look so glam? - flossy braces. heh.

Schulte Update
First, a couple apologies:
1. Sorry to post this ontop of Sam's birthday wishes. I just knew that if I didn't do it today, I wouldn't do it. Strike while the iron's hot, as they say.
2. If this screws up the blog again, I apologize. I can't seem to remember how to post straight to the blog and thus am doing it via email. Sometimes I feel like...well...our parents with my technological sauvy. :)
Onto the news:
The Schulte's have had a busy spring/summer so here are the highlights:
1. We searched for, found, negotiated, and closed on a house in April and May. We moved in (with the help of moms and uncles and brother-in-law's girlfriend) in three days.
2. Ryan's first year of teaching ended with him singing songs to each class about the past year. It was pretty sweet.
3. I continued working on my medical transcription stuff. I'm loving the company but missing those free summers! :)
4. Tyson continued to amaze us with his growth. He now stands, signs, crawls everywhere, throws some great tantrums (takes after his mom), and is just itching to walk. He is also a water baby!
5. Summer has found us mainly at the cabin at Holter on the weekends or putzing around the house.
6. Ryan has completed many projects at the house - he built a deck in three days, moved a fence, put up a fan/light and I have done little things like install a thermastate, doorknobs, decorate, and dig out some ugly landscaping left behind.
7. We took a break to celebrate Tyson's birthday on the 28th. And as you all saw- he enjoyed every minute of it. How crazy to think he's a one-year-old! Ah!
8. Soon after the first birthday was the second anniversary. Celebrated in style on a cross-country flight with a one-year-old. Woohoo!
9. The flight was our trip to the East Coast. It was actually more Rhode Island than Boston, but whatever. We went out for a friend's wedding. We decided to extend the trip and Mark and Judy and Ryan's brother Rob and his girlfriend Molly joined us. We saw Newport, Boston, Cape Cod, Providence, and many places inbetween. The boys went to a Red Sox game at Fenway, the girls did some shopping, we ate great Italian in an old mafia area of Providence, and, of course, celebrated the beginning of another marriage. All-in-all, a pretty sweet vacation. It was also a vacation of firsts for Ty - swimming, sucking out of a straw, haircuts, sand, the ocean....man alive! This kid has done more in his first year of life than I did in my first 25! Tyson was a trouper with traveling, too. The 5-hour flight from Vegas to Providence (Southwest...dang connecting flights) barely bothered him. He entertained all the flight attendants quite thoroughly.
So that's what has happened. Coming up, Ryan will be getting his wisdom teeth pulled tomorrow (yuck) and then right after celebrating his 26th birthday (on the 24th), he will head to Idaho for his annual training for Guard. He found out, though, that he has to stay an extra week to take a class in some information inputting. Woohoo. Boise and sitting in front of a computer all day. After that, he has two days until school starts again. Poor guy.
Tyson and I will occupy our time taking swim lessons and hanging out with Aunt Molly before she leaves for South Dakota again, and Uncle Joe before he moves to Billings. Grandma and Grandpa will be here, too...I think. ;)
So...I know this is a novel but we hadn't posted in so long. I'll try to keep ya'll better updated.
Have a great birthday Sammy! See the rest at the Family Picnic!

FLORIDA BUYSKE UPDATE
We just wanted to share some of the fun we have been having down here in Florida! For those who hadn't heard we have joined the boat club (no Abe, not the infamous bar in South Bend), we actually have a boat. Haven't skied behind it yet because we don't have skis yet and I think Will would just cry if I fell rather than tell Kelly to turn around. :)
We hope that everyone else is doing well and we are sorry that we are going to miss the picnic again. Baby #3 comes September 3rd so August 9th is cutting it a little close for traveling. But we will be thinking of all of you and looking forward to see those pictures right here on the blog.
Take care and we will post again soon with some birthday pictures.
Love you all,
Matt, Kelly, Will, Ben and #3

A Working Stiff
I thought I would join Ben and Nate in the world of the working stiffs, so I accepted a teaching job at Canyon Creek School in Billings, MT. Good old Billings. I will be teaching 4th grade, so it should be a great time. I am nervous and excited at the same time, and am looking forward to actually having a "real" job. Looking forward to seeing everyone at the family picnic as well. Hope everyone's summer has been going well and there have been fun activities for all!!

Philpot Summer
Had a busy fourth in Utah. The infamous Magna fourth of July parade was as entertaining as ever. Followed by a barbeque and fireworks, your typical smalltown America fun. We had some visiting Philpots in town and did some major family pictures, had a heck of a fun day at Lagoon (14 Grandkids on the Philpot side all under the age of 10 but didn't lose a one thanks to these fancy matching t-shirts courtesy of yours truly), toured the new LDS temple in South Jordan, threw a surprise half birthday pool party for Mikayla (poor December birth child), and accomplished a tremendous mountain hike. Packed in as much as we could, I'm still waiting for my relaxing summer to begin. :) Not complaining though, we've had a blast.
Here's a picture from the rodeo where Carter did some fancy Mutton Bustin' last week.
This was a shot from our recent hike in Zion's National Park - SO BEAUTIFUL!

Happy 1st Birthday, Tyson
It is still officially Tyson's 1st birthday even though he has been tucked into bed for the last two hours. It is hard work turning one. Meg and Ryan hosted a great party with kabobs and salads. Tyson was really taken with a couple of his presents as they made great noise. Look out! We just wanted to share a little clip of the patootie enjoying his cake. Happy birthday, Tyson. We love you. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BRI!

Happy Birthday to the amazing Briana Rye - mother, business owner and spectacular baby sister. For those who haven't heard, she was recently awarded space in the Portland airport to open another spa (slated for ribbon cutting in the late fall/early winter, I believe). Now that Sabina is running around like a rabbit and talking up a storm, I fully expect that she will be equipped with a hammer and a level and put to work on the buildout this summer. We love you very much, Breezy!

Gramma Invades Billings
Mary and Jim came to Billings this weekend for Sam's baseball tournament. Gramma decided to jump in the car and visit the Magic City as well. We visited, played some cribbage, watched some baseball, and made a shopping and sightseeing trip to Red Lodge. Sunday night was baking night as Gramma, Jeanine, and Shannon joined forces to make a great rhubarb cake. It truly was tasty. The visit wrapped up Monday night with a barbeque at Miranda and Nate's house. It sure was great to see everyone and have Gramma spend a couple days with us..JPG)
Love y'all,
Tom and Jeanine

Happy Birthday, Abe!
Ain't no jive -- Abe's thirty-five.Wednesday's the curse -- could be worse.

I hope you'll all join in wishing Abe a momentous birthday. It's a milestone, to be sure. Don't really know how he'll be celebrating. Of course, he and Dez recently went to that county in Wisconsin to see The Doors. (Funny, I didn't know the surviving members were still playing.) Anyway, happy birthday, A-bomb! Hope you have a great one!

Last Pre-K class~
This is a picture of my last class of Pre-Kers. As some of you know, I am taking a new position at Holy Spirit next year and won't be teaching. It was a very tough decision but one I am feeling pretty good about right now. I guess we will see how long it lasts. I couldn't have asked for a better class of kids! They were awesome! My new position is called development which is really P.R. I will be in charge of recruitment, retention and fundraising for our school. It will be very challenging for me since I tend to be a bit introverted, but I am looking forward to that challenge.
I am also looking forward to summer break!! So wish me luck in cleaning out my classroom and getting my office set up. It is a long, tough task, but I get a pretty good break afterward!
