Thought it was time I posted some pictures of my growing belly and the new house. This first one was taken a few weeks before Christmas after a night of painting at the new house. I'm about 5 1/2 months here. The bump's not too prominent yet, but coudn't wear my normal clothes. Yes, Dad, that's your Yale shirt.

These two pictures were taken a few weeks ago so I was about 36 weeks. Definitely more noticeable, but no stretch marks yet! These are some of the only clothes that fit anymore so hopefully the heat turns down a little over the next few weeks. This weekend it was 85 Friday, Saturday, and Sunday!

This is the outside of our house. The grass hasn't really come in yet, but I guess they plant it dormant and then it will start growing in early to mid spring. The development is just about completely moved into, so the construction noise had cut back, which is nice.

This is the living room and is the first thing you see when you walk in the front door. The cut out looks into the kitchen. We painted the accent wall a cranberry color in case it doesn't come out well.

This is the kitchen. I love how much space it has. At our last place, Nate and I could hardly fit in together. I like the way the color turned out in here. We still need to do a second coat but have been putting it off because we soon realized painting really, really sucks.

This is the dining room which is basically an extension of the kitchen. The laundry room and garage entrance is at the back of the room. The stairs divide the kitchen and dining room and lead to all the bedrooms upstairs. Stairs are not my friend right now. I am definitely huffing and puffing by the time I get to the top!

This is just a silly picture of Nate and I from the Badlands on our summer moving trip. Strange to think in a few days there will be a new member in our family! I'll keep you all posted. Love you all and miss you tons!

Anacortes Finally Meets Renton

The Washington Buyskes FINALLY made it down to Renton to visit Rika and Family. It took an impending move back to Montana to light a fire under our butts, but it paid off in the end as we had an awesome time. It is SO much fun to see the newest generation of Moores enjoying each other's company. Bridger and Will instantly hit it off and I am sure that Truman and Will were communicating on some level. Despite a recovering leg, Naala was able to bond with Will while Dakota left Will quaking in his booties. Matt was astounded by how much Rileigh reminded him of Bri and it was wonderful for all the Buyskes to finally meet Mark...WHAT A GUY!

So for anyone who is looking to have a SPLENDID time, there is plenty of entertainment in the Pac Northwest. Tulip Festival time is quickly approaching (April 1-30) and the Buyskes have plenty of room!

Thanks again for such a wonderful weekend Rika, Mark, and Kids!!

Spring Break

First off, I hope everyone had a good, safe St. Patrick's day! I know I did. Butte was amazing as always. Secondly, Spring break is next week for all of us University of Montana students. To commemorate, a few friends and I decided to do a little road tripping to Seattle and then down to Portland for the first half of the week and then back to montana and our respective homes for the second half. We have a pretty open itinerary so i was kinda hoping to see some of my long lost cousins who happen to live in the Pac NW. Unfortunately, I dont have phone numbers or anything so if you would kindly respond, that would be terrific! Have a great week, fam fam!

Crazy Cousin Makes Good ...

Here's some information from Quicknotes at Carroll College, where Robbie Poirier is working ...

STAFF NEWS

Robert Poirier, Carroll's events arrangement specialist in the Campus Center, is an accomplished and decorated ski joring racer (that means, he races on skis at high speed over an obstacle course while being towed by a galloping horse!). He's aiming to bring home another championship belt buckle in the event at the Whitefish Winter Carnival on January 26-28. When you see Robert in the Campus Center, wish him the best of luck.

That's not a picture of Rob, but it gives you the idea of ski joring. Apparently Rob took the trophy at a Wyoming meet last week. A couple years back, the Helena Independent Record ran an article on the sport and featured Rob in a photo.

Coaching Cousin

I thought everyone would like a chance to check out the quick bio on our coaching cousin! You can also get to the game schedule from this page. Guess what? Glendive and Ashland are both in the (relatively) same area of Montana - the edge of civilization! If you head East, you can visit two people instead of just one! For a limited time only...

Give me your decrepit, your battered, your bedraggled

Your ramshackle, threadbare, weather-beaten white tee-shirts.

That's right. I want them...
and when I'm done with them,
you'll want them back.

In light of the upcoming (extended and updated) Moore family reunion,
I thought it only fitting that we have tee's to wear home showing our pride,
and our survival...

So, send me your whiteys! The more the better!!!
We can use plain white cotton tee shirts, all shapes and sizes.
Holes are fine, some small stains, paint etc are ok too...
just no lettering or printing on them anywhere.
(except for tags of course)

My address is:

Maurika Wells
19636 134th Court SE
Renton, WA 98058

We are planning on moving to Montana soon,
so if our address changes, I'll post it immediately.

Let's get this rolling family!!!

Hey all! Well, last night we closed our show. It was sad to see it go, but we must move on. We struck the set and moved in part of the set for the next show. If you all would like to see pictures, you can visit the theatre website at www.augie.edu/theatre and click on the "Current Season" tab and then click on "Kin: The Trial of Carrie Buck" and photos should pop up.

So, we just got off of a 4 day weekend because we had 2 snow days Thursday and Friday! It was awesome! But, I felt really lazy. I guess I am just making up for my high school and elementary school days when we never had snow days. So, now we have 2 weeks of classes and then Spring Break!! Yay! Anyhoo, I will attempt to post some pics, but I probably won't be able to figure it out, so you may just have to visit the site. Love you all!!

I swear I WILL get this down

So, after a bit of a problem, and me being an airhead, I finally was able to log back on to the blog site. Even the old folks are better at this than I am...how sad. So, I just thought I would do a quick update of what is going on. We are entering into our final run of the show. If any of you don't know, I am in a show right now called "Kin: the Trial of Carrie Buck". It is based on the real Buck v Bell court case in 1924. It is about the sterilization of Carrie Buck and is amazing. People have given us great compliments on how well it has turned out. It is a bit intense, but really great. I play Carrie Buck, so it is my first major role and I am sad to see it coming to an end. It has been an amazing experience and I have learned so much from it! Last Friday we had an excellent crowd and the playwright was there. I was really nervous, but the show went fantastically well and afterwards the playwright asked me if he could give me a hug! I was so pumped...that has to be a good sign...right? So we run Thurs-Sat and then we are done and start on the next, and final, show of the year. This year has gone by so fast and so much has happened! I am truly blessed to have a family as great as you all!! Hopefully I will see you all at The Big Bash '07 (aka Meghan and Ryan's wedding)! Love and miss you all!!

bittersweet goodbye

Hello everyone,

Well, most of you may already know by now, but the family has sold the house. It is official. Kind of sad, there are a lot of good memories in that place. It will be weird calling another place home, but sometimes life just leads you in different directions. I just ask that you all keep my parents in your prayers as they prepare to deal with this bittersweet time in their lives. Hope all is well. We have a lot of snow in SD and are expecting some more, joy! :(
Love always,
Jen

MIKE VISITS WA!!!

Uncle Mike made it out to hang with his coolest nephew for a few days after a grueling interview at Pacific in Forest Grove, OR. We had a wonderful time despite gusting winds across Deception Pass. Will loved the view, but Kelly was not as thrilled with the heights. Grandpa Marc shared in her distaste for high bridges over tumultuous waters with an 8kt current in high wind conditions. I still think it was a great time and Will seemed to enjoy himself.

More grandkids ...

Here's another couple pictures from our visit to Utah. This one includes Hannah's first three (left to right) -- Kesiah, Carter, and Mikayla. The expression on my face reflects the realization that I have seven grandchildren.

While we were there, Jim and Beryl came over for dinner and games. Here's Jim (the younger) with Kaitlyn. I think he's a little more comfortable with the goats.

Happy Valentine's Day

I would like to extend my best wishes of a very happy Valentine's Day to all. Hope all is well in your respective worlds!
This Valentine's Day is one with mixed emotions for me, as February 14th was the birthday of one of my very dear friends who passed away this summer in a very violent and tragic car accident. For his memory I will post here an essay that he wrote as his "Mission Statement" for life:
"I love my life. I love laughing with my friends until we lay gasping for every breath. I love sitting with my brother on a cool granite cliff the juts out of a lush emerald hill, watching the last dying rays of a sunset reflect off of a river hundreds of feet below, talking about philosophy and God.
I love the sanctity and compassion I feel with my knees touching the padding while I kneel in a pew, rosary in hand, admiring and praising my Lord. I love the feeling of adrenaline flowing through my veins when I fly off of a cliff, falling into oblivion. To attempt to quantify my life would be impossible, for I exist in a uniquely qualified state, thus a mission statement would inevitably fail me. I do not live my life for a purpose, rather, I attempt to live my life with purpose. I want to embrace every emotion, every experience, every conquest, and hold it close to my soul. I want to hold it so close that every moment becomes a part of me, defining me by my passion for life and my exuberance to be a part of my life, instead of sitting idle and watching it pass like a faceless stranger on a crowded city street. My unbridled sense of self, as well as my love of community, comes from a childhood that structured my idea of love as this: Love your God above all, love your family with trust and loyalty, love your friends with compassion, and love yourself with respect. Through this principle, I have been able to enjoy life as a type of journey through stages of love. I suppose if I had to define my purpose that would be as close as I could come. My mission is to love, be loved, and eventually find the greatest love of all: a life everlasting, Amen."

Thank you for everything! I love you all from the bottom of my heart!

The latest edition!

Or is that "the latest addition"? Anyway, many of you received wonderful photos from Hannah today. Her baby, Kaitlyn Louise, was born January 21. Ann and I made a quick trip to Utah last weekend to visit the growing Philpot Phamily. I can report with confidence that all members are healthy and sound. And the baby is as sweet as Tupelo honey -- even tempered and tolerant of overbearing grandparents.

This picture is one of my favorites -- Kesiah helping push the stroller.

Mother and child are doing fine.

Ironic Pic of the Day

Most of you know... or I guess the ones I have talked to about Bobcat football know... that I have mixed feelings about Mike Kramer. Tonight was the Bobcat-Griz basketball game and my friends put me up to getting a picture taken with THE coach of our football team. Here is visual proof. I think my eyes are so wide because I am in awe.........

The Girls

I would venture to say this is the only photo of Jeanine, Beryl, and Ann together. If any of you have a photo of Bill, Marc, and Jim together let's see it.
For those of you from the Perry Moore Family blog, from left to right; Jeanine Moore (married to Tom Moore), Beryl Moore (married to Jim Moore), and Ann Waickman (married to John Moore). This picture was taken in either 2002 or 2003 at the annual family picnic at Ryan Dam in Great Falls.

Grandma joins the 21st Century!

This past weekend, Mom/Grandma was in Billings trying to communicate with me in Great Falls and Tom in Billings and just trying to keep in touch. So Tom called me to see if we could get Mom on our cell phone account. Ben checked, ordered her a phone and I got it Wednesday. I took it to her house with a quick lesson and she is ready to go!
Her cell phone number is: 406-788-1551 so it will be pretty easy to remember. Try giving her a call and see if she remembers everything I told her!

Love ya all!

my news

So today is my first day of freedom. I wasn't able to get on the internet during my containment, but it sure looks like everyone is staying on the busy ways of life. I wish I could get one of those monstrous puppies, but I don't know how it would work during med school...maybe after. Anyways I am feeling great, happy to be out of the house and free to do whatever. I have another scan on Monday morning and then it's off to Bozeman to find a job and relax until the big move. We won't know how well this treatment worked until this time next year when I get to go through all this again, but hopefully without another treatment. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers, it helps more than you could ever know. If you guys have any questions about this whole process just ask and I will try to explain it as best I can. Thanks again and I love all of you.

Love,
the newest MSU alum,
Jake

Jake & Nate

I ran across this old photo and it struck me that times haven't changed too much. Nate seems to be living it up and Jake is just laying low, sucking his finger thinking, "I don't no this guy."

Reunion?

Hey, folks -- I hope y'all are regularly checking the Perry Moore Family Blog. Check out the postings there, along with comments. It seems our own James Anthony has started the seismic groundswell for a Moore Family Reunion. The last one was in 1992, so it may be time.

So far, we know this summer will encompass Meg and Ryan's Wedding July 7 and annual Family Picnic July 8. Any other Big Events we need to be aware of? Is it possible to pull off a Moore reunion? Weigh in with your thoughts.

Isn't she just the cutest darn puppy you've ever seen??? This is our baby Naala, 2 years ago.

Now she's just a big lovin' horse of a gal. She has magical loving eyes and 112 lbs of the sweetest disposition you can ask for, great with babies, kids, cats, and even annoying chihuahuas. Our gal suffered a crutiate ligament tear in her back leg, and is going in for surgery next week so wish her luck! :) After her recovery of 6 months, we are going to breed her and would love to keep some of her puppies in the family if anyone is interested. Boerboels are cattle dogs by breed, super smart, loyal, playful and thoughtfully protective - if you want more information about the breed check out: http://boerboel.org.uk/
Locally, we are taking deposits and payment for puppies to help pay for her surgery and I didn't want to leave out my favorite bunch of people in the world if anyone is looking for a great dog. :) love yas! Maurika

Rileigh Smileigh Turns 12!

Wednesday, January 31, is Rileigh's birthday. It's hard to believe that the little girl who arrived in Pasadena in 1995 is entering her last year as a pre-teen.

Here, she's sitting with her pal, Dakota.

Here's Rileigh with Grandma Ann.

Below, Rileigh shows her ballet form shortly after performing in "The Nutcracker."

Little more news from the zoo

Hi guys! So I thought I would update everyone on what is going on in my life, since I was just looking at the blog and realized i had not announced it on here yet. I have recently changed my major from Medical Technology to Liberal Studies with an emphasis in Religious Studies. Yea I know big change of plans, huh. Well the main reason for this is to perhaps prepare myself to enter the seminary after college and then pursue the priesthood. Obviously, the priesthood is a long ways away (8-10 years away) and a lot can and will happen between now and then. I had a very interesting semester last semester that pointed me down this road. I would love to tell the story but it is very long and would be best told over a cup of coffe or on the couches after dinner at Grandma's house. So while you pray for Jake through his frustrating time, say a quick one for me too, if you don't mind. Thanks guys! love you all and hopefully I will see you all soon!

Birthdays!

Monday, January 29 -- Mary Shannon Moore Wingerter

Saturday, February 3 -- Thomas Gerard Moore

We won't mention ages. And I have to say that these photos do little justice to Mary's new svelte self. Yer lookin' good, sis.

Tom and Mary were both born in Great Falls, at the old Columbus Hospital on 2nd Avenue North. At the time, we were living in the "old house" down on 6th Avenue North and 18th Street.

As "younger kids," Tom and Mary attended Great Falls High, rather than Great Falls Central (which was, at that time, a mere memory). They're also both graduates of Montana State -- the only ones in immediate family, along with their spouses.

At the last family picnic, we were remiss in getting the usual gaggle of group shots. I think we were all too busy dodging bees.

Anyway, here's a shot of Mom and sibs from 2005.

NEWEST NEWS ABOUT JAKE

Hey y'all!
Just some news about Jake. He had a scan today on his thyroid. They found some tissue, not sure if it is cancer or not, and his levels are a bit elevated (read not at zero). So the doctor has decided he needs to be radiated again with the radioactive iodine that he has had before. Jake is feeling very positive that this a preventative measure and that it doesn't mean his cancer is back. However, I am his MOM and I tend to say we need lots of prayers anyway.
So, I am asking the greatest family in the world...keep Jake in your prayers. He goes in on Monday for "the pill" and he will be in isolation at home for at least 3 days. He will have another scan the week of Feb. 5. So he is "stuck in Great Falls" as he says until we find out the results of that. Right now, he is 5 weeks without his synthroid and feeling really tired and run down. So he has been sleeping lots but going buggy being at home with NO ONE here in Great Falls (read no friends!) So, keep Jake-O in your thoughts and prayers this next week. I truly would appreciate it!
Love you all and I am looking for photos of our newest addition! Let's go Grandpa! Where are the pictures?!??

Address Updates

Because I need addresses to write thank-yous and to update my address book, I thought everyone might want to do this. I think the blog is a good spot since everyone can see it. I know there's a lot of us that may change addresses frequently, but again the blog could be used to notify everyone of your move! I've had four addresses in the past 6 months, but I think I'll be settled at this one for awhile. So I'll start the updating out. Here's my address:
1602 Caliper Way
Durham, NC 27713
919-452-3916

Hope everyone is doing well. Me and baby seem to be doing fine. I've survived all the kicking so far!

My oh May

Well, today I bought my ticket to ride ... rather, to fly. I'm going to Slovenia for the month of May. Visit friends, play some music. Meanwhile, I'll tough out the winter in Montana.
Hey -- good news that Matt and Kelly are expecting again! The family is growing apace.

I hope everyone is getting a good start in 2007.

This is solely for Abe.

Sorry, I couldn't get the pictures to load because our connection is slow. So here are the photos I was trying to post. Hope everyone had a good Christmas!!
