Hey all. Here are a couple of shots of the holiday trip Jake and I took to San Diego. Note that Mr. Wingerter is not among the runners of the Turkey Day 5k portrayed in picture no. 1 below. He was the wise one. I thought I was going to have a heart attack.
We did have a great time down there. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures of the "Go Cars" we drove around town, but if I get some, I'll post them. They were awesome. Oh, and Jake did not get kicked out of the Furman house, in the first quarter or otherwise, so congratulations are in order for that.

Good bye old friend
It is with a heavy heart that I announce the departure of a dear member of our family. I sold my beloved Mini Cooper last week. As you all know, it has seen me through many cross country trips and will be dearly missed, mostly because its loss signifies the fact I am truly becoming an adult. Yikes! Here's one last shot of my old friend.
In other news, we've had some fun times lately. Emma had her first halloween, first trip to San Francisco, first trip to Philly (even got some authentic cheesesteak - no, she did not partake unfortunately), first Thanksgiving (although we ate dinner at like 10:30pm due to some confusion about the turkey temperature and she was asleep by then), first haircut, first time to the zoo, first time to an aquarium, and first time meeting Uncle Josh (Nate's brother). Mom was gracious enough to join me in San Fran while I had a conference and so got to play gramma for awhile. I'm sure she had no fun at all. We are very excited about coming home for Christmas. Emma's baptism is going to be the Sunday before Christmas and you are all invited. Here are some pictures from our adventures!
PS: I'm a little behind in my congratulating. A big YAHOO to Bri and Peter and Meghan and Ryan! Wow this family is bulging at the seams! We're running out of states. Maybe we'll have to start using countries. I vote for African countries. There's lots of those, so bring on the babies!

Moments
Thank you to everyone for their well wishes - I finally had a chance to look on the family blog! It is amazing how much time goes into taking care of and adoring a new being! Sabina Isabella is doing fabulously - she is eating heartily and has gained back all of her birth weight and then some. We have taken off two weeks to just hang out with Sabina and it has been magical. Kit was here until the last Friday and was a huge help in keeping our house "German Clean", cooking, and helping us aclimate to being new parents.
After giving birth I have a whole new respect for all of the women in our family who have given birth (and many did it again!!) and then given so much of themselves to their children. I think that if you ever question whether your parents love(d) you - after you have a child of your own, I have realized that there is no way that you would still be alive and well if they didn't just adore you to the ends of the earth. It is an amazing thing to be a mother - I can't wait for every day! Peter is doing wonderfully, and loving being a daddy. Thank you for all of your love and support.
Love you all,
Briana, Peter, and Sabina

John and Jeanne were three years ahead of me in high school. I had no trouble picking their pictures from the graduating class of 1943. What surprised me, however, was an inability to remember the names of many other in the class.
Fun to see he picture, though. Helps to remember that we were once young.

GRIZ
Well, that's a wrap, folks. The Griz once again gave quite a beating to the poor Bobcats. 41 to 20. As I was telling Jake today, I took out a calculator and some scratch paper and figured out that the Griz scored more than twice as many points as the poor Cats.
We were lucky enough to be joined here in Chicago by Meghan and Ryan Schulte, up from Louisville. We went to the Fireplace Inn, a bar in Old Town where they had the satellite feed for the game. It was the only place in Chicago to watch the Brawl, so it was packed with Montana folks. Ryan's brother Rob had a good day receiving for the Griz, and we all enjoyed ourselves very much.
Remember, Nate: men's large. Looking forward to the package.

Cat/Griz
First off let me say I am very happy for Bri and Peter. What a beautiful kid and another blessing on this family. That being said it is Cat Griz weekend this weekend and I just wanted all you Griz fans to see the man that will be ruining the game for UM.
For those of you who don't know number 99 for the Bobcats, his name is Aaron Papich and he is a beast. Although I will not be able to watch/listen to the game due to the two tests I will be taking Saturday, I will be at ease knowing that the Cats, lead by big 99, are dominating the game. LET'S GO CATS
P.S.
Congrats again Bri and Peter. And Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Sabina
I'm passing along information from Peter and a picture of the new arrival. It's great to be a Grampa again!
Sabina Isabella Borten was born at 2:58 a.m. November 14, after 23 1/2 hours of labor. (Ugh!) She is 8 pounds, 1 ounce, and about 19 inches long. She's very sweet (so far), and pretty easygoing.
She was born underwater at Alma Birthing Center, in an intact silvery amniotic sac ("in the caul")! Supposedly this happens only about 0.1% of the time. A few months before the birth we'd heard about this phenomenon and old associated belief that a baby born this way would have psychic abilities or other gifts & decided it would be cool if this happened with Sabina. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caul )
We're very tired and happy. Thanks for your thoughts, prayers, positive wishes, energy, gifts, and love. Love -- Peter, Briana, and Sabina

What NOT to do on a Notre Dame weekend
Hey! I found this about a month too late. Sorry Jake, I could have forewarned you with this.
20 Things Not to Do on a Notre Dame Football Weekend:
Do not ask, "Who's that on top of the dome?"
Do no not throw a fish, frog, octopus or even a single marshmallow during halftime.
Do not complain that Notre Dame has gone to pot since your student days.
Do not physically or verbally abuse the visiting team's followers, no matter how boorishly they behave.
Do not attempt to sacrifice a campus squirrel to the football gods. They only accept wolverines.
Do not attempt to tackle the police horse ridden by the officer who just confiscated your beer bong.
Do not arrive late to the game, point into the middle of a mash of bodies and expect everyone in your row to happily move over and make room for you.
Do not stay at home to watch the game on TV because you think you see the game better there. It's not just about the game.
Do not ask anyone around you to please not cheer so loud.
Do not ask students or real fans to sit down in front.
Do not run out the clock in the closing seconds when you're at home and tied with the No. 1 team in the country because you think you like your chances in overtime. Look, the only offense you've had all day is from the return game, and there are no returns in overtime and -- oh, forget it.
Do not take your wife and kids through yet another play-by-play recreation of the Boston College game of 1993.
Do not initiate or join in or cheer the success of the stupid Wave -- no matter how lopsided the score.
Do not pray for victory. God finds it distracting.
Do not even think about the cost of the Notre Dame merchandise you've just piled into your arms.
Do not paint "Five Minute Parking" over the name on the parking space of a coach you don't admire.
Do not drink too much. Really. We mean it.
Do not sell your ticket. To anyone. Anywhere. Ever. No matter how much the Nebraska fans offer. Do consider donating extras to a charitable organization.
Do not say, "This one's in the bag," when the Irish are up by 20 points with a quarter to go. Especially against Air Force.
Do not leave before the last second has ticked off the clock, the last helmet has been raised and the last Irish player has disappeared up the tunnel.

Happy Anniversary, Hannah & Jerry!
Today marks the eighth anniversary of the Philpots' wedding, and what a grand eight years they have been! Four children, Hannah's teaching degree, Jerry's job at the airport, a new home in the Tooele Valley, and active lives in church, school, and community.
I wish I had a current picture to post, but I don't . So use your imagination -- picture a fine young couple with a healthy brood of kids in the Utah sunshine. There you have it.

Okay, Moore family, lets get with it. Joey is the first and only one so far to get his list in. Thanksgiving is only two weeks away and then it gets to the rush. I love shopping this time of year (and it is the only time), so lets get those shopping lists ready and on the blog. We need ideas!! You families need to put family ideas out there, too!! GREAT!

News from Utah
Well, I thought we would do an updating post to let ya'll in on Philpot affairs. Carter broke his arm last month, his elbow actually from a little fall off a backyard swingset. But he handled his cast well and was relieved to have it removed on Halloween. Which moves us on to the Halloween pictures of our witches and cowboy. The kids did some marathon trick-or-treating with Jerry and I fear we will have candy around the house until Easter. Kesiah joined Mikayla in dance this year and loves it. Kaitlin is crawling like a crazy baby now and can swing her hips in a full circle which is really wierd. Some people have commented that she is circus bound. One can only hope. And our last picture is Kaitlin with her cousin, Gracie the chicken, from Jerry's side of the family. They are a month apart and fun to watch grow together. Can't wait to add Rika and Bri's baby girls to the mix. Hope all is well with everyone. Much Love, Hannah
