Hello Family!
I hope everyone's summer is going splendidly! I am really enjoying Helena. Thank you to all of you for the birthday wishes! And thank you once again, John and Ann, for your hospitality! It was fun to see you. Just a heads up, one day you may come home and find me reading on your porch. So, first off...the countdown is on for the Big Bash! I am so excited to see everyone! It will be a lot of fun, I mean, look at our family, when do we ever not have fun?! Second, Bri, I would love to hear how me as a baby is one of your first memories. Interesting... And finally, Rika, I don't know if you received Jen's email, but we had a little hitch in the plans for Meg's bachelorette party and so now we were wondering if it would be okay for us to join the shindig on the fourth? I believe you have dubbed it "Wellsfest". Anyhoo, that is about it from here. Miss you all and can't wait to see you!! Much love!

Calling all Moore's
So Rika and Briana and I were gathered around excitedly chatting about the upcoming family picnic. And the conversation turned to discussing the tradition of drawing cousin names for Christmas as it is done during this festive summer event. Now first, we all agreed that we love having a tradition among cousins and it is great to exchange presents. And if we agree to continue with that tradition, we in no way want to exit from it. However in revisiting the topic brought up a few years ago by Mary and Jim, we also agreed that there are some kinks in the system when presents sometimes don't get sent and some aunts seem to get stuck with the shopping. We discussed a number of options and think we might have come up with an idea that keeps us connected as cousins but reduces the difficulties sometimes encountered. What if each year all the cousins emailed pictures of themselves, their siblings, other cousins, family events, etc. to one cousin who would create a family calendar for Grama and any other cousin or family member who wanted a copy? I've made this type of calendar before and it is really easy on Costco's website. You might have seen last year's calendar from Rika and I at Grama's house. And it is great because we could add all the cousin and family birthdays and it comes out really neat. And I added a picture of me as a kid because someday, the calendar will be similarly vintage and cool, eh? We thought it would be good to throw out the idea before the family picnic so we could make a final decision then. And if anyone has other ideas, please share. See ya'll soon. The Moore Sisters

"My Kind Of Town"
I finally got out to visit Abe in Chicago after years of never following through on my promises to visit the Windy Cityand it turned out to be one of the most fun trips I have ever had. I flew in on Thursday the 31st of May and Abe, being the hard worker that he is, was... um... hard at work so I bummed around downtown by myself and visited Millenium Park and "The Bean" and then went and looked around the Art Institute of Chicago. After that I met up with Abe and Desiree back at his office and went out to dinner and hung out with Desiree for the rest of the night. She's a pretty fun girl. Abe was not along for this evening out in Licoln Park due to his unparralled work ethic but was there in spirit. Friday turned out to be a fun one with a bike ride along the shores of Lake Michigan which suprisingly was a happenin' place to be. That night was an engagement party complete with Irish Car Bombs and some dancing to some interesting blues music at a blues club. A great time for everyone. The weekend mostly consisted of spending time in Wrigleyville with Abe's friends and watching the Cubbies play the Braves at Wrigley Field. Sorry Mike, but unless Fenway Park is better than heaven for a baseball fan, Wrigley is going to be tough to beat as the best baseball stadium. All in all it was a awesome weekend complete with great food... and I mean GREAT food, some good drinks, and a ton of good people. We also learned that nachos are preeeeeeeeeeety much the same thing as eggs benedict.
P.S. I am really still trying to post pictures but the two comps in the house seem to not want me to. It must be the internet connection, but I will post 'em as soon as I can get them to work.

Happy Birthday, Briana!
It's a busy month for birthdays! Briana's is Friday, June 22. Here's a photo from last Halloween, before she and Peter became parents-to-be. The Portland residents will be visiting Montana over the Fourth, attending Meghan's wedding, and possible coming back for the Family Reunion. Meanwhile, I hope she and Peter celebrate her birthday with all the gusto that I'm used to hearing about from them. Add your best wishes, too.

Happy Birthday, Jan!
June 20 is Jan's birthday. We're not countin' candles here, but who said that gettin' old put the "funk" in "dysfunctional"? Why, Jan did! Okay, she didn't really say that, but she lives it. Since I don't have a postal address for Jan as she and Marc make the big transition (Marc more than Jan, so far), this will have to be the birthday card that she wishes she never received. Add your thoughts to wish Jan a happy happy!
Wells-a-palooza
Oh man. The buzz! The buzz! Wellsfest, a.k.a. Wells-a-palooza, a.k.a. Wellstock is blowing up like a roman candle. Rumor has it that the red carpet may be graced by such stars as Bri and Peter Borten, Benjamin and Nick Wingerter, and perhaps even a surprise appearance by Big Mike Buyske. Some of my Missoula friends and their ladyfriends will be in attendance as well. Attractions include fireworks of all varieties, a spectacular view, friendly beverages, and a trampoline (upon which my own ladyfriend promises to perform amazing feats).
This is the kickoff to a week of legendary parties. Those of you who accomplish the July Trifecta (Wellsfest, Wedding, Family Picnic) will forever be remembered in the lore of the Moore Family. Our childrens' children will sing songs about you.
Make them proud.
Be there.

Connie's Auction List!!
Connie asked me to post this on the blog, so buck up family! Let's get some great items together for the auction so it is phenomenal!!
I'm still looking for donations for the auction to be held at the family reunion. The proceeds from this will be used to help cover some of the expenses. So far we have the following:
Kay Gleason--book of historical clippings and family stories
Kathleen--an hour of editing
Susie--family cookbook (3)
Steve and Susan--Moore Livestock hats
Jim (the elder)--novel length manuscripts (2)
Kay Moore--hand drawn note cards
John Moore--CD of his own music (2)
Mary and Jan (moore) were talking about putting together a Montana made wine, etc basket
Connie--a quilted picture
Aurie--something civil war themed
The more things we have the better the auction will be. They don't have to be hand made.
Thanks, Connie

I'm Shameless
Okay, I have to admit that I have a certain reticence about putting a promo for my album on the blog. At the same time, though, I feel pretty good about the project. I've received good feedback, and I hope folks are ready to rock 'n' roll.
I'll leave it at this -- you can check it out at CD Baby and decide if it fits your taste. It'll be on iTunes soon. As an alternative, you can e-mail me and we can arrange a deal. Or you can wait until the family reunion and bid on it at auction.

Happy Birthday, Abe!
The man turns 33 today -- one-third of the way (hopefully) on his Journey of Life. This post comes late on the day. In fact, he arrived early in the morning on June 10, 1974, in Great Falls, Montana. He was a big, feisty, squaller baby -- so much a no-neck that Maurika's spoonerism "A-bomb" fit quite well. Later on, her own kids called him Abe-uh. So ... to Abram · Abe · A-bomb · Abe-uh ... happy birthday!

Summer fun
Hey all! I hope your first week or so of summer is going well! I am here in Helena and settling in. It is awesome because my dad lives right down town! I can just walk right down the Gulch. It is great. I am going to start my job at the Doughnut Hut on Monday. Whoohoo! Nothing like the smell of fresh doughnuts at 6 in the morning to get your day started right! I am also helping down at the Grand Street Theatre. It is fun. If any of you are in Helena this summer, you should give me a call! I don't really know anyone here, besides some of Joey's friends and my dad, so I would love to hang out with you! Have a great summer and I will see you at The Bash in about a month!!
Peace~

Meunier Family Update
I sent out some pictures via kodak gallery. Please let me know if you didn't get an email and want to see some pictures. We've had quite a busy first few weeks with the little squirt. We traveled to Montana then Seattle for a wedding and then Hilton Head South Carolina where Emma got to go to the beach for the first time and dip her toes in her first pool! How exciting. Now we're all back home getting into our own routine. I started back at work and school and it's been tough trying to get everything done, but what a sweet distraction! Hope you are all well and see you all in a month or so! Love Ya!
